Because no Catholic titles were available ...
Wouldn't it make more sense to learn first what Jesus teaches about forgiveness through His Church, rather than entertain interfaith speculation?

That class is taught in the Fall to the parents of kids preparing for their First Reconciliation. Source material is bad photocopies from the early 80's and most embarrassing Confession stories from ObamaCath parents.
I may need to crash this book club so as to advise Oprah that Cincinnati has not (and will not) forgive Buddy Gray for requiring the patrons of Music Hall to need a virtual army of police to attend a production.

Sometimes it is helpful to consider the viewpoing of those of other faiths in order to clarify our own. And although their faith perspective is different from ours, we may share some common points of view on certain topics.
Yesterday, for example, I posted some questions about suffering after quoting Rabbi Harold Kushner on the topic at http://acts17verse28.blogspot.com/2009/06/understanding-suffering.html. I agree with some of his thoughts, and was interested in hearing what others thought. Some of the comments were interesting. What would you have said?
Sue,
I don't think the sort of dialogue you are suggesting is possible until we first have a firm grasp of what our own faith teaches.
Also, they are putting forgiveness on a purely human level. If they use it as a starting point to clearly teach what the Church teaches about forgiveness and reconciliation between God and man as well as between people who have wrong between them, maybe; but why not just start with the Church in the beginning?
