More's little office

On the Church's calendar today are the feasts of St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher. Unfortunately, I lack the talent to put together beautiful tributes. For that, visit Jay Anderson, who wrote an excellent post, rich with pictures, links, and prayers. You might also enjoy H.V. Morton's 1951 account of his trip to a then-shabby Tower Hill. This morning we read from Pauline Media's "Saints for Young Readers" (text is online here) and, in honor of More, prayed the abbreviated Morning Prayer in Magnifikid. More daily prayed the Little Office of Our Lady, which has fallen out of official favor since Vatican II.

I started out with thee Little Office of Our Lady before I moved on the Liturgy of the Hours and I certainly loved it.

Though one reason it might be out of favor is that there is much more encouragement for the laity to pray the Divine Office now.
